Exclusive: MAX USA Corp. Presents Case for Pneumatic vs. Gas or PAT Fastening Tools

MAX PowerLite System compresses air up to 500 psi for increased fastening speed and power.

Using a pneumatic system in high-rise commercial building construction might not be something you’ve thought about recently, mostly because you’ve gotten used to using cordless gas or powder actuated tools (“P.A.T”) for fastening metal track or wood to concrete or steel.

However, there are some unique reasons why you may want to consider using the PowerLite® high-pressure system in high-rise commercial buildings as an alternative.

PowerLite® is a unique pneumatic system. PowerLite® compressors are able to compress air up to 500 psi which creates much more power than conventional 100 psi tools.

Designed with a lightweight body and engineered for heavy duty applications, PowerLite® tools are built to place fasteners into steel, concrete, and engineered wood.

The PowerLite® HN120 (right) concrete/steel pinner can shoot one pin per second unlike P.A.T.’s which require operators to either load a single pin and powder load one at a time to fire each shot or load a maximum of 10 pins along with powder loads.

Traveling back and forth between your work area and the place where you keep the pins and powder reduces productivity. The difference in reloading time when using PowerLite® tools saves operators time and time is money.

Another tool from the PowerLite® product line is the HN25C drywall track pinner (left). The HN25C has the ability to shoot 5 pins per second which is 2x faster than gas operated tools. For production work in a commercial building such as installing metal framing to concrete or steel, the HN25C will work more efficiently than conventional tools.
