Slag Cement Association Welcomes Texas Lehigh Cement Company

Texas Lehigh will be starting production at a new slag cement facility in Houston, Texas this summer.


The Slag Cement Association (SCA) announces the addition of Texas Lehigh Cement Company as its newest member company. Texas Lehigh will be starting production at a new slag cement facility in Houston, Texas this summer.

Texas Lehigh Cement Company, a fifty-fifty joint venture between Heidelberg Materials North America and Eagle Materials Inc., recently announced that the construction of its new slag cement facility in Houston is substantially complete.

With this new facility, Texas Lehigh Cement Company strengthens its cementitious footprint in the fast-growing Texas market while meaningfully reducing the carbon intensity of its product portfolio.

“We are thrilled to have the Texas Lehigh Cement Company join the Slag Cement Association,” stated Nick Brimley, Marketing Director of SCA. “Their new facility in Houston is a clear indication of the growing demand for slag cement in the concrete industry.”
