This shift reinforces EFJohnson’s dedication to delivering a fully integrated suite of mission-critical solutions built on its trusted KENWOOD Viking radios, ATLAS P25 Systems, and KAIROS infrastructure platform.
“With this strategic realignment, EFJohnson is better positioned than ever to deliver unified, P25-based solutions that serve the mission-critical needs of public safety professionals,” said Duane Anderson, President and CEO. “As JVCKENWOOD’s P25 Center of Excellence, we’re focused on delivering innovation, reliability, and system-wide resilience that our customers can depend on—day in and day out.”
The realignment brings focused investment and coordinates innovation across EFJohnson’s three core portfolios, all designed to meet the rigorous demands of public safety and critical infrastructure agencies.
As communications needs evolve, EFJohnson remains committed to supporting those who protect and serve with flexible, scalable, and standards-based technologies.
As part of this strategy:
- KENWOOD Viking Subscriber Radios: The Viking 8000 Series will be expanded to support NXDN, making it the only multiband platform on the market to support Analog, P25, DMR, and NXDN protocols in a single device. This interoperability gives users the freedom to operate across multiple systems without sacrificing performance or reliability.
- KENWOOD ATLAS P25 Systems – A foundational component of EFJohnson’s portfolio, ATLAS continues to set the standard for decentralized, resilient communication networks. Featuring patented Latitude technology, distributed call control, and self-healing capabilities, ATLAS delivers uninterrupted communications even in the most demanding and dynamic environments.
- KENWOOD KAIROS: Known for its compact footprint and deployment versatility, KAIROS will continue to evolve with enhanced support for Analog, P25, and DMR Tier II protocols.
To support this sharpened focus, EFJohnson will discontinue the sale of NEXEDGE and NX Series subscriber radios. Viking will become the exclusive subscriber platform for both ATLAS and KAIROS system solutions, streamlining compatibility and optimizing performance across the full product ecosystem.
