More comfortable and customizable grips will now be available to Knipex tool users in the North American market.

Knipex has introduced tri-colored comfort grip handles that also feature KNIPEXtend for attaching extensions. Via color-coding,  the tools can be identified easier within yoru tool box.

The new tri-color comfort grip handles are comprised of three materials. There is a  gray-colored textured surface which improves  grip and control. The familiar blue soft component ensures a secure and comfortable grip, protecting users’ hands. Durability and strength comes from the red section of the handles.

Another new feature of the Knipex multi-component sheaths is the KNIPEXtend interface, developed for attaching extensions and thus adapting the pliers to individual needs and requirements or customizing them.

Among other things, a KNIPEX TetheredTool clip can be attached here for fall protection, or a clip called KNIPEX ColorCode, which individually identifies the pliers with a coloured marking. Knipex says the KNIPEXtend interface can be used for a wide range of clip ideas in the future.

Using information www.knipex.com/knipextend-3d-en, users can customize their own extensions via 3D printing.

“At KNIPEX, we take great pride in offering an extensive range of high-quality pliers and we’re excited to be in the process of transitioning away from our dual component handle to the new, innovative comfort handle design.” said Todd Shumate, Knipex Tools North America president.

All products that previously had Knipex’s familiar red and blue two-component handles will gradually be upgraded to the new three-component handles. Only the company’s electronic pliers will not be affected.

The changeover will take place gradually from this year onwards, with the electrically insulated tools remaining with the tried and tested VDE-tested two-component handles for the time being.

“The transition is a gradual one, but our distributors have started receiving the first wave of KNIPEXTEND tools and are ready to put them in the hands of eager customers,” Shumate said.
