The company says this new blade provides sandpaper-like finishes, long-lasting blade life and unmatched performance on both handheld circular saw and cordless and corded miter saw.
Power tools continue to evolve to meet the demands of the modern jobsite at a rapid pace. Each day, new tools like the 7 1/4-inch miter saw hit the market to offer new levels of efficiency. Providing contractors an opportunity to work in spaces that used to be inaccessible, these often battery-powered units featuring brushless motors are more power than ever. Available blades for these tools are not keeping up.
Russell Kohl, president and CEO of Diablo says most 7 1/4-inch blades lack the necessary features for optimized performance, often taking a general approach to wood cutting applications for remodels, framing and trim carpentry.
He says this is due to most standard blades being crafted using stamped template on soft steel. Additionally, standard blades utilize generic carbide teeth that won't hold up with repeated use and cannot achieve advanced tooth designs needed for these finish applications.
“The automation processes used for their creation may save companies time and money, but it results in unbalanced, basic geometry with poor brazing,” Kohl says.
According to Diablo, in best cases, standard blades work ok for one tool and provide lackluster performance in another or worse.
Diablo’s 7-1/4 inch 60-Teeth Wood Demon Ultimate Finish Saw Blade combines the portability of a handheld saw with the premium performance of a miter saw. Delivering what the company describes as sandpaper-like finishes and up to 2 times more cuts per charge, eliminating rework and improving productivity up to 10 times compared to standard blades.
“When we say ‘ultimate finish’ at Diablo, we mean it,” Kohl says. “With the new 7 1/4-inch Wood Demon blade, we also mean unprecedented productivity, smooth finishes that won’t need rework, optimized cordless performance and technological advancements that continue to set us apart from other companies.”
He says thanks to Diablo’s continued investment in innovation, you can get the same precise finish with a smaller blade rather than choose between a miter saw blade and a handheld saw blade for the most efficient cut.
“With the new Wood Demon blade, you don’t have to choose, this blade can do it all,” Kohl says.
The secret to the blade’s performance is in its engineering and craftsmanship. It includes a Next Generation Dura-Blend carbide for never-seen-before performance and durability. In addition, the new blades offer an expanded blade cutting surface area to reduce blowout, to provide those sandpaper-like finishes consistently.
The Wood Demon blade’s radical Axial Shear-Face Grind features a five-degree angle for up to 2 times more cuts per change, and a seven-degree positive hook angle for optimized results on both corded and cordless miter and handheld circular saws.
Combined with Diablo’s overall design, including Hi-Alternate Top Bevel tooth geometry, tri-metal shock resistant brazing, laser-cut stabilizer vents and a thin kerf blade body, this new blade provides cuts with little-to-no rework.
