For 37 years, Evergreen has been one of the cooperative networks which independent construction and industrial tool distributors were able to benefit from via partnerships. industries.
Supporting collaboration, education, training and relationship-building across the industry, the cooperative benefited its members, preferred suppliers and industry partners.
“While this chapter is coming to a close, the relationships, knowledge, and impact created through Evergreen will continue across the industry.” said Jen Miller, Evergreen CEO.
She said the decision to dissolve was made thoughtfully by Evergreen’s board of directors and with appreciation for Evergreen’s legacy and the many people and companies who helped shape it.
The concept of dissolution has clearly been in discussion for some months.
Earlier this year, the 2026 Evergreen Partnership Conference was cancelled.
At the time in April, Miller left a message to members about the cancellation, suggesting that it was not a reflection of uncertainty or loss.
“We believe Evergreen is headed in the right direction with a move that represents the natural evolution of Evergreen and our mission to better serve members and suppliers through scale, alignment, training and education, and long-term opportunity,” she said in a statement on the cooperative’s website. “This industry is evolving quickly, and we want to be part of that.”
Ultimately, cancellation of the conference was the first part of the dissolution process.
Miller noted that the board and leadership remain committed to supporting members and partners throughout this transition.
Evergreen will move forward with a wind-down process, including the completion of remaining business matters and the handling of organizational obligations and assets.
The CEO said Evergreen’s board and leadership team remain committed to supporting members and partners throughout this transition.
“We are incredibly proud of Evergreen’s legacy and grateful for the dedication of our members, suppliers, employees, and partners over the years,” Miller said. “Evergreen extends its sincere appreciation to all who have contributed to its success and legacy.”
Members of the Evergreen Supply Network reportedly were sent an email message about the pending dissolution of the organization.
Several members quickly moved their support to other cooperatives in the industry.
Sphere 1 announced the addition of 18 new distributors which it said would exand its reach across key markets.
New members included: Acme Tools, American Fasteners Corporation, Beerman Precision, Construction Tool Service, Darragh Company, Industrial Tools and Supply, McCally Tool & Supply Co., McQuade & Bannigan, Mills Supply, NEFCO, Pro Tool & Supply, Salisbury Supply Co., Slims Power Tools, Straightline Contractor & Industrial Supply, Team Tools, United Supply and Sales Co., United Tool & Fastener, Whitton Supply Co.
“The cooperative model works because it is built on trust, shared purpose, and a commitment to one another’s success,” said Mike Shumard, president Sphere 1. “We are proud to welcome these distributors into that community and look forward to growing together.”
Among the new members are those whose owners or presidents were sitting members of the Evergreen board.
A member-owned cooperative, Shumard said Sphere 1 continues to advance collaboration and operational excellence among independent distributors and supplier partners.
“The cooperative remains dedicated to the principle that member-owned, member-driven organizations are best positioned to serve customers and build lasting businesses,” Shumard noted.
