safety 2025

From fall protection to gloves and eyewear, safety is one of the construction industry’s hottest categories. Modern designs and more comfortable materials can change worker’s mindsets from avoidance of PPE to clear preference. As new innovations continue to come forward, Guardian is among the manufacturers looking to ensure workers get home safe, particularly after working at height. For contractors, this translates directly into productivity and peace of mind that OSHA will not shut them down or issue a substantial fine.

According to research Guardian completed, the construction industry is expected to remain economically stable in 2025, with growth varying across both residential and non-residential segments.

Kevin Gee, Guardian chief marketing officer and U.S. chief revenue officer said infrastructure and residential projects may see increased demand, while commercial construction starts will face continued challenges due to evolving workforce trends and high interest rates impacting project financing.

He noted that labor shortages, rising material costs, and regulatory changes will also shape the construction industry’s trajectory in 2025 and need to continue to be monitored closely.

For distributors, he said the supply chain conditions have improved, although material availability and cost remain key factors.

Through consolidation and greater buying power, more distributors are expanding into safety-related solutions, including training and compliance support, to meet the evolving market demands.

“With growing regulatory pressures and complex job site needs, there is a stronger demand for turnkey safety solutions that enhance efficiency, compliance, and worker safety,” Gee said.

Guardian's Edge Protection Barrier System is an alternative to coventional wood or cable barriers used to protect the exterior edge of buildings and interior voids during construction.
Also, he said the industry will continue to see shifts in building materials, requiring safety manufacturers such as Guardian to rethink product design and adaptability.

In addition, he said technology continues to have a substantial impact. Even within the construction industry AI will have an impact by enhancing predictive analytics for supply chain efficiency, optimizing equipment deployment, and offering real-time safety monitoring.

Gee suggested that as such systems evolve, AI integration into safety solutions may have the ability to help streamline risk management, reduce downtime, and reshape how construction teams plan, execute, and maintain safe job sites.

“Guardian is committed to continuous growth through innovation and product development, both in our core markets and by expanding more into specialty trades,” Gee said. “We are focusing on enhancing end-user safety, productivity, and overall job site efficiency.”

He said the company’s commitment remains to deliver comprehensive solutions that prepare workers for work at height through training and pre-use planning, prevent falls with best-in-class engineered systems and passive safety solutions, and protect workers in the event of a fall with high-performance anchors, body harnesses, connectors and rescue equipment.

“Our continued priority is to make height safety simple, so our partners can focus on what matters most to them,” Gee said.
