Hand Tools: Auto-Grip self-adjusting locking pliers

Beltway Supply, Inc., a women-owned, national tool company based in Northern Virginia, announces the launch of the Auto-Grip locking pliers.

Auto-Grip is the first self-adjusting, completely automatic, one-handed locking pliers that provides a long-waited, vast improvement to the one tool nearly every handyman keeps in his/her toolbox. From professional contractors to the do-it-yourselfer – all are familiar with and use locking pliers, but the new Auto-Grip claims to be the first bona fide enhancement to that tool since 1958.

The new Auto-Grip locking pliers have a patented locking mechanism that you set once. It then allows the user to quickly clamp onto thick or thin objects with one hand over and over again without constant adjustment or re-adjustment. From right out of the toolbox, one hand does the job. The old-fashioned adjustment knob is completely gone and there is no need to adjust the pliers over and over to get the right grip. It makes any building or repair task easier and faster. (Watch an Auto-Grip speed test at autogrip.com)

The locking pliers – made in three sizes (all under $16) – are professional grade, and guaranteed for life. The company also makes a similarly innovative and self-adjusting, one-handed groove joint pliers along with other innovative tools.

Ray Toczylowski, president of Marines Plumbing in the Washington, D.C. region, says, “We’ve never found a better second pair of hands than with the new Auto-Grip! We used it on a job immediately as both a clamp and pliers and it saved a lot of time and frustration. They are now standard-issue truck stock on all of our service trucks.”

“Response from tool retailers, professional contractors around the country has already been great,” said Christine Heiby, President of Beltway Supply, Inc., which distributes Auto-Grip. “Word is getting out and, since almost everyone has a pair of locking pliers in their toolbox, they want the new, better one. People are telling us they are using the Auto-Grip not only as pliers, but as an adjustable wrench, clamp, temporary handle and portable vise, among other uses.”
