Portable Electric Tools: Festool USA launches new cordless power tools
Festool USA, the North American division of the German toolmaker, announces the launch of the newest additions to its cordless power tool lineup.
Powered by 18-Volt, 5.2 Ah Lithium-Ion batteries, and featuring patented EC-TEC brushless motor technology, the expanded lineup delivers all the benefits professionals have come to expect from Festool, only without the power cord.
Highlighted by the introduction of the new TSC 55 Cordless Track Saw, the entire lineup brings the power and versatility to tackle even the most demanding projects, both in the workshop and on the jobsite. The complete lineup of new products includes:
TSC 55 Cordless Track Saw: The new TSC 55 Cordless Track Saw (561 702) builds on years of system innovation to deliver the most versatile, precise cutting system available, allowing users to cut the cord and go wherever the work takes them.
Powered by two 18-Volt, 5.2 Ah batteries, the TSC 55 can zip through more than 328 feet of sheet goods on a single charge.
The system also features a flexible dual battery concept, allowing users to operate the saw with two 18-Volt battery packs for maximum power or one 18-Volt battery pack for low weight.
C 15/C 18 Li-Ion Cordless Drills: The revolutionary EC-TEC brushless motor, combined with all new 5.2 Ah battery packs, delivers enough power to tackle a million screws with minimal wear.
The compact D-handle design not only provides an option to get into tight spaces, but also improves hand-positioning for better control.
Also featuring the Festool FastFix chuck system with optional right-angle, depth-stop and eccentric chucks, the C 15 (564 558) and C 18 (564 616) drills can each do the job of five or more application-specific drills.
BHC 18 Rotary Hammer: The new BHC 18 Rotary Hammer (564 598) has the best power-to-weight ratio in its class.
Combined with a compact, balanced, and ergonomic C-handle design, the BHC’s light weight (5.7 lbs) and low vibration makes for efficient and comfortable one-handed use — whether for extended periods or even overhead applications.
Further supporting the BHC 18 is a complete range of SDS bits for concrete, natural stone, mortar and formwork containing concrete, as well as the complete line of Centrotec accessories.
PDC 18/4 QuaDrive Cordless Drill: With the PDC 18/4 (564 597), Festool set out to create the ultimate drilling machine.
Driven by a four-speed gearbox, users can drop the torque down low to hog out material, switch to high-speed hammer function with 3,800 RPMs to plow through concrete, or just go mid-range for all common drilling applications.

In conjunction with the expansion of the Festool cordless line, the company also launched PowerSelect to offer users more buying freedom and flexibility. The new PowerSelect program offers three different purchasing models to provide users with various options when configuring tools to suit their specific cordless needs. The three tiers consist of:
- The Basic version includes the cordless tool without battery packs or charger, but still comes in a high-quality Festool Systainer with core accessories.
- The Plus version includes the cordless tool, Festool Systainer, core accessories and comes with the battery packs and charger.
- The Set version offers the same as the Plus version, but with added extras and accessories.
“With battery compatibility across our entire range of cordless tools, our PowerSelect platform gives Festool users complete system flexibility with freedom to use the same battery and charger for all of their 18V cordless drills, jigsaws and track saws,” added Rangoussis.
The newest additions to the Festool cordless lineup will be available immediately, through authorized Festool dealers.
Like all Festool products purchased from authorized dealers in the U.S. and Canada, all new products come with the company’s Service All-Inclusive comprehensive protection program. This new warranty program covers repairs on manufacturing defects for 36 months from the date of purchase, among other benefits.
