elete CitriLyte for All-Day Hydration

elete CitriLyte Add-In is a patent-pending electrolyte concentrate formulated to make functional electrolyte water for workers without calories, sugars, or artificial ingredients. elete CitriLyte is more efficient than water alone, less expensive, requires less clean up than sports drinks, and is suitable for most, if not all, of the work force under the most grueling conditions of physical labor in high heat over a full work shift. New elete CitriLyte Add-In for functional, electrolyte-fueled hydration that tastes like water; Lower sodium, no sugars or artificial ingredients make it ideal for all-day consumption by most if not all workers laboring in the heat.

An American family with over 40 years experience in the mineral nutrition business launches elete CitriLyte Add-In, a significant break through in hydration. elete CitriLyte Add-In is a patent-pending electrolyte concentrate formulated to make functional electrolyte water for workers without calories, sugars, or artificial ingredients. elete CitriLyte is more efficient than water alone, less expensive, requires less clean up than sports drinks, and is suitable for most, if not all, of the work force under the most grueling conditions of physical labor in high heat over a full work shift. CitriLyte is also a big enough value that business can afford to provide it for all of their work force, all day long.

"Hydration is more than just water and more than a sugar treat to be enjoyed once or twice a day," said Val John Anderson, Director of Sales and Marketing for elete. "Electrolyte-fueled hydration is needed all day long when working in dangerously hot conditions. In almost every instance that the body loses water, it is also loses essential electrolytes. All of the potentially life-threatening concerns around hydration are tied to imbalances between fluids and electrolytes in the body. This includes dehydration at one extreme and hyponatremia at the other. Every essential function of fluids within the body depends on the balance between those fluids and essential electrolytes."

For years, the only options for work hydration were plain water without any electrolytes or punch drinks with too much sugar and sodium so that they were contraindicated for much of the work force with common health conditions or for the entire workforce for all-day hydration. Many are surprised to learn that the most popular of these products can contain four cups worth of sugar calories or more in two gallons of beverage, which is the amount of hydration recommended by OSHA—32 oz. per hour, per person, over an 8-hour shift. Levels of sodium in this amount of beverage are similarly astounding.

"While sodium is an essential nutrient that is lost in sweat, it is also the most abundant electrolyte found in the typical diet, said Anderson. "It is so prevalent in the modern diet that many doctors and policy makers around the world are very concerned that the high levels of this essential nutrient are actually contributing to widespread health problems. Sweat increases the body's need for sodium, but it is important to recognize what workers already get from the diet when considering what they need to replace in using hydration product."

elete CitriLyte Add-In contains no sugars and nothing artificial. It also has a much lower emphasis on sodium and contains a balanced level of magnesium, an essential electrolyte left out of the most common hydration products, and that happens to be the most expensive of the major electrolytes. Magnesium is, among many other things, essential to aid both sodium and potassium to act properly as essential electrolytes within the body. Electrolyte water made with elete has sports drink levels of electrolytes with no more flavor than a glass of water at a restaurant. Workers can drink electrolyte water made with elete CitriLyte Add-In all day long without noticing a difference from drinking plain water except for the profound difference it can make in being able to cope with, tolerate, and recover from working in conditions of heat stress.

In a peer-reviewed, published study on hydration during hard work over multiple 10 hour or longer work days, those who drank water alone drank over 74 percent more water to achieve the same level of hydration as those who had the original elete Electrolyte Add-In, an ingredient in the new CitriLyte, added to all of the water they consumed during the study. elete has also received very positive feedback from individuals in the deployed armed forces, including a chief medical officer with the Army Special Forces, who have used elete electrolytes with great success under the extreme heat stress work conditions in Iraq and Afghanistan during summer.

CitriLyte is compact and easy to use.  A 4 oz. bottle of concentrate, for example is enough to make 10 gallons of electrolyte-fueled hydration. Plus, it doesn’t contain any sugars that can contribute to the growth of mold and bacteria in coolers and require daily cleaning with soap and water after use.  Another option is the refillable pocket flask that allows workers to carry enough electrolytes easily in their pocket to make a full 2 gallons of electrolyte water and can be used on an individual basis as needed.

elete CitriLyte Add-In is available in the following sizes:

  • The refillable 24.6-ml empty pocket flask to retail at $1.50
  • A 2 oz. refill bottle that makes 5 gallons of electrolyte-fueled hydration, MSRP $7.50
  • A 4 oz. refill bottle that makes 10 gallons, MSRP $12.50
  • A 250 mL (8.3 oz) refill bottle that makes 20 gallons, MSRP $18.50
