E-Z LOK has expaned its offering for its E-Z Press-In threaded inserts for thermoset and thermoplastics. |
Inserts for thermoset plastics are engineered to tackle the challenges posed by the material's rigidity and non-remoldable nature. Press fit inserts for thermoplastics are ideal for applications ranging from DIY projects to advanced 3D printing.
E-Z Press-In brass inserts for thermoset plastics, offer electrical and corrosion resistance. Stainless steel inserts provide superior strength and durability, making them ideal for more demanding structural applications. Used in thermoplastics, brass inserts offer excellent machinability and corrosion resistance, while stainless steel provides enhanced strength and durability.
Use of the E-Z Press-In inserts reduces splitting in thermoset plastics, as the design is tailored to distribute insertion forces evenly, like the strength and durability found in LEGO bricks. The ease of installation saves time and reduces the likelihood of errors during the assembly process.
Besides simplified installation for thermoplastics, the diamond-knurled design ensures that the stainless steel and brass press inserts stay firmly in place, resisting torque and pull-out forces. Additionally, these threaded inserts are designed to mesh well with various types of thermoplastics and their precision significantly lowers the risk of misalignment and insert-related defects.
In addition, E-Z Lok says the needs for post-installation thread chasing is removed.
