“Working with TitletownTech and participating in the Microsoft AI Co-Innovation Lab is a unique and exciting opportunity for us to explore AI in a meaningful way.” said Bill Feck, director of IT at Packer Fastener.
The lab is focused on helping businesses in Wisconsin develop and deploy high-value use cases of AI.
“Incorporating the latest in AI technology aligns perfectly with our values at Packer Fastener,” Freck said. “We’re always looking for ways to move faster, serve better, and push ourselves to improve to help our customers and better the industry. We’re eager to see the impact that this program will have on our growth.”
As a company, Packer Fastener focuses centers on continuous improvement for systems and team members. Known for its speed, service, and responsiveness, the company sees AI and its participation in the Microsoft AI Co-Innovation Lab as a strategic advantage.
The project is seen as the first step of an ongoing roadmap to integrate AI across the company.
Freck said the team will leverage the knowledge and relationships from the Microsoft AI Co-Innovation Lab to develop solutions for additional use cases to create AI-driven efficiencies and drive innovation in the industrial supply industry.
For starters, the automated quote and order software will extract key data from customer requests and match it directly with internal SKUs to streamline the quoting process.
Freck said the new software is expected to automate up to 75% of quote transactions, saving roughly 40 hours per month. These savings will translate to faster response times for customers and the ability to seamlessly scale as growth for Packer Fastener continues.
Other benefits include reducing duplicate inventory and shortening new employee onboarding time. By profiling customer preferences and offering guided prompts over time, the software will increase the reliability of system-generated recommendations and further increase high customer satisfaction. The software is expected to launch in Q4 of 2025.
