General Equipment Company has added 10- and 12-inch-diameter (254 and 305 mm) sizes to its 2350 Bor-Max™ Series earth augers. These new sizes are designed for use with General Equipment Company’s two-man EPIC® Series hole diggers, plus competitive products utilizing 1-inch diameter auger drive connections.
The Bor-Max Series earth augers feature an aggressive design, which combines cupped flighting with increased flighting pitch to produce cleaner holes with less spill back. Other benefits of this design include better soil penetration and less horsepower required to dig a hole. As a result, they are ideal for drilling through unconsolidated soil classifications, such as loams, sands, soft clays and granular rubbles.
Constructed for maximum durability, the augers incorporate a heavy, steel-walled axle to withstand bending and torque loads. The blade extends past the flighting edge to minimize flighting wear and extend service life. Also, the blade and screw bit are both heat-treated for extended service.
In addition to the 10- and 12-inch sizes, the 2350 Bor-Max Series from General Equipment Company offers a variety of other augers previously released for its 200 Series EPIC single- and two-man hole diggers, including nominal diameters ranging from 2 to 8 inches (51 to 203 mm). All auger sizes are 30 inches (762 mm) long. A plain shaft-type auger extension can be used to increase the digging depth by 15 inches (381 mm).
