Metabo, a leading German international manufacturer of professional-grade cordless and corded hand-held power tools and accessories in the US, introduces their new 18V cordless drill/driver and hammer drills versions.
“We are proud to introduce our new line-up of 3-speed 18V metalworking drill/drivers and hammer drills. There are 4 new tool models, 3 drill/drivers and 1 hammer drill in a total of 9 configurations. This includes bare tools without a case or with a stackable metaBOX 145L carrying case, or if you prefer a kit, we offer the bare tool, two batteries, a charger in a case,” said Joseph Masters, Metabo’s Senior Product Manager.

The drill/drivers and hammer drill have a maximum tightening torque of 1,150 ft-lbs. The tools feature impulse mode, which helps set and remove stubborn screws. They also include 12 different speed/torque settings can be easily chosen with a simple push of the thumb dial.
The drill/drivers and hammer drill can drill up to 5/8” in steel, 2-5/8” in wood and have a 3-speed range of 0-450/0-2000/0-4000 with the 3rd gear optimizing the tool for best performance in metal. The hammer drill has the added benefit of hammer drilling, it has an impact rate of 38,000 BPM and can drill up to 5/8” in masonry.
These drills include “Best in Class” drill chucks with the Metabo’s New quick plus release system. The chucks provide the highest clamping force on the market and now come with 100% more* bearing reinforcement.
The drill/drivers and hammer drills also include gyroscopic anti-kickback control which protect the end-user and extends the life of the tool. They also contain Metabo’s 2nd Generation Brushless Motor which extends run time, maximizes power, and increases motor life.
Other features include updated tool housing design, which increases the airflow to the motor to cool and reduce overheating. The tools also contain two integrated LED work lights to illuminate the work area for easier and safer operation, and an ergonomic, rubber-coated non-slip grip.
The new drill/drivers and hammer drills are ideal a variety of applications from standard wood applications to manufacturing of metal windows, doors, facades, paneling, canopies and railings.
