Effective September 1, 2010, the entry level FLIR i5 will retail for $1,595. The FLIR i7 will retail for $1,995, making it the first infrared camera to meet the proposed RESNET thermal imaging inspection requirements for under $2,000. Both models are available now for immediate shipment through authorized FLIR distributors.

As the world’s largest manufacturer of thermal imagers, only FLIR is able to implement long-term reduced pricing by leveraging unrivaled manufacturing volume and decreased production costs.

Now more than ever, the FLIR i5 and FLIR i7 shatter price/performance barriers as the most cost-effective thermal imaging cameras on the market. The affordable models permit home inspectors, building inspectors, energy audit professionals, plant maintenance technicians, and water damage restoration specialists to upgrade from a single-spot IR thermometer to the big picture of a FLIR infrared camera.

The FLIR i5/i7 IR cameras can be used confidently to quickly diagnose problems, improve efficiency, and ensure worker safety. Now starting under $1,600, budget is no longer an excuse to delay upgrading: every workplace and building inspection organization should have at least one.

Ergonomically lightweight by design, the rugged FLIR i5 and i7 infrared cameras are heavyweight performers. Both thermal imagers offer remarkable infrared image quality with 2% thermal accuracy, a large 2.8” color display and 80x80 pixel resolution on the FLIR i5 or a RESNET-compliant 120x120 pixel resolution on the FLIR i7. The FLIR i5 offers a center-spot measurement mode and, for extensive analysis of job sites, the FLIR i7 adds two measurement modes: area (minimum/maximum), and isotherm (above/below).

Both IR cameras capture infrared images in FLIR’s patented radiometric JPEG format which permits users to rely on only one image file both for temperature analysis and reporting as well as for easy sharing in emails, MSWord documents, etc.  (Pricing is in US dollars and applies to U.S. sales only.)
